Parents, guardians and festive friends… get ready because PUGS is returning to school on Friday 12th December!

For the uninitiated, PUGS is when our wonderful LSA transforms a school room into a treasure trove of gifts. With the help of our trusty parent volunteers – aka Christmas Elves in sparkly hats – each class gets their turn to visit the shop.

Every child carefully chooses a gift for their parents or carers, picks out their wrapping paper and bows, and then hands it all over to the elves for some expert wrapping wizardry. Gift labels are lovingly completed and by home time, the children are clutching their top-secret parcels with proud smiles.

Whether you manage to save the surprise until Christmas Day is, of course, entirely another matter…

How You Can Help 🛍️

For PUGS to be its brilliant self, we need two things:

  1. Volunteers

    • Easy peasy! Honestly, who doesn’t want to wear a Santa hat and witness the joy (and occasional agonising decision-making) as children pick the perfect gift?

    • Class reps and LSA committee members will have first dibs, and if we need extra hands we’ll shout – but please make yourself known if you are achingly desperate to be involved!

  2. Gifts, glorious gifts!

    • This is the big one. In years gone by, we’ve almost been encouraging parents to rummage in their neighbours’ bins to keep the shelves stocked. This year, let’s aim higher.

    • Our dream? A well-stocked PUGS brimming with gifts you’d actually be delighted to receive. Think 50/50 men’s and women’s presents, and the sort of thing you’d happily give a friend.

    • Had a September clear-out? About to do a charity shop drop or list on Vinted? Pause for a second and ask yourself… could this be good for PUGS?

Where to Send Your Treasures 🎁

This year’s event is led by the wonderful Christine Yates-John.

Donations can be:

  • Dropped directly at Christine’s (address available on Classlist via the Parent Finder tool).

  • Handed to your class reps in the playground – they’ll make sure gifts reach the right place.

With your help, PUGS 2025 will be full of joy, sparkle and, most importantly, gifts that make our little ones beam with pride as they hand them over.

So dig out those treasures and get ready for some festive fun.

Because let’s face it – Christmas magic isn’t made in Lapland. It’s made right here, in our school, one lovingly wrapped PUGS gift at a time.
